Andre Williams, Director
André Williams joined Marian University as the Color Guard Director in the summer of 2016. A recent theatre (dance focus) graduate from DePauw University, he returned to Indianapolis to continue to pursue his passion for design and artistry. André first began his performing arts career as a percussionist. He quickly became captivated with color guard and dance which led him to train and join the Warren Central World Guard before graduating High School. Since then, André has been designing, directing, and teaching schools around the midwest, even while attending college. During his time at DePauw University, André performed with the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corp., and returned to teach at his alma mater, Warren Central as a world guard technician and choreographer. He also founded and artistically directed Company Unspoken, the first dance company on DePauw’s campus, and directed and choreographed three main stage productions. Since returning to Indianapolis, André has taken advantage of many opportunities. He became the color guard caption head of Indy Ignition, and most recently worked as the guard director and dance instructor at Brownsburg High School. André currently dances professionally with Phoenix Rising Dance Company, teaches and choreographs at Phoenix Rising Dance Studios, and designs and consults for a number of programs in the U.S..
